Phil Barski joined the Lions coaching staff in 2013, returning to the CIS after previously being in the league as a player.
Barski began his collegiate playing career in the NCAA at Bowling Green State University in 2000, where he played two seasons before heading to the CIS for two seasons with the University of Calgary from 2002-04. He played 38 games for the Dinos, scoring 27 points and earning academic all-Canadian accolades.
Prior to going to Bowling Green he also spent one season playing under head coach Jim Wells with the Newmarket Hurricanes of the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League (OPJHL).
Behind the bench, Barski currently coaches the Pickering Panthers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). He also has experience coaching with the Vaughan Rangers, Toronto Marlboros and the Don Mills Flyers. He also runs a skills and development academy for North Toronto Hockey.
When he is not on the ice, he is a fully licensed real estate agent and general contractor.
