Sean Foudy joined the Lions coaching staff in 2014 as the special teams coordinator, returning to the institution where he had a tremendous five-year varsity career in both football and track and field (1986-91). 

During his time on the track and field team, Foudy helped the squad win silver and bronze team medals at the national championships while, individually, he claimed four CIAU and five OUAA medals in the 60m hurdles and relays. On the football team, he was a second-team all-star in 1988. Foudy was named York’s male athlete of the year in 1989 and was inducted into the York University Sport Hall of Fame in 2006.

After graduating from York, Foudy was selected in the third round of the 1989 Canadian Football League (CFL) draft by the Ottawa Rough Riders and spent six seasons in the league as a free safety, winning the Grey Cup in 1994 with the B.C. Lions. He is now a chiropractor in Toronto and married to fellow Hall of Fame inductee France Gareau.
