YORK STADIUM

Lions Sport: Football, Soccer, Rugby.

Opened in 1995, York Stadium features a grass field and line markings for football, soccer and rugby. The stadium is 75 metres by 140 metres. In an adjacent building just behind the bleachers are the team locker rooms for both home and visiting teams.

There is bleacher seating for 2,500 fans, with additional seating for another 1,000 on the grass on the east side of the stadium.

A press box with a capacity of 12 people provides media members with a workspace. Internet connections are available.

In addition to interuniversity events, York Stadium has become home to Rugby Canada in the Greater Toronto Area. Games hosted at the venue have featured exciting action from the Canadian senior men's team against such foes as France, Wales, England Saxons and Gloucester RFC in recent years. For each contest, additional seating was added and more than 7,000 fans packed the stadium.

ADDITIONAL GRASS FIELDS

Four other grass fields are located just west of York Stadium and are used for interuniversity practices and intramural sport. These fields have football, rugby and soccer goal posts and include field lights to allow for night activity.

All four fields are at least 60 metres by 130 metres, with the dimensions varying slightly from one to the next.
