The name York University and all the names, insignias, logos, seals, crests, designs, marks or other symbols associated with York University are the exclusive property of York University. This includes the Lions, Yeomen, Yeowomen and Sport York marks and names. Use of these marks is prohibited without prior approval from the Director of Sport & Recreation and the University's Licensing Board. All designs to be used on any product must be approved by the University prior to production. Any requests for approval of a design to be used in Sport and/or Recreation must be directed to the Director of Sport & Recreation. Suppliers/manufacturers of merchandise carrying a York University name, insignia, logo, crest, etc. must pay a licensing fee to the University for the legal authorization to do so.
University Policy on Alcohol Sponsorship
York University has continued to abide by the policy of the Ontario Council on Interuniversity Athletics that solicitation of sponsorship from cigarette and alcohol manufacturers is not allowed.
