So goes the fight song for the York Lions that is shouted during interuniversity events at York University, a fitting symbol of the long-standing pride held by York students towards their sport teams. After all, student-athletes at York have been competing against rival institutions on the Canadian sport scene for over 40 years. Since the inception of organized interuniversity competition in 1965, York has won 166 provincial banners and 29 national titles.

"Pride" is the hub for York's rich history of sporting accomplishments from both its teams and student-athletes, a place where their historic achievements can be showcased and celebrated to highlight the Lions' strong tradition of athletic excellence. Included is the York University Sport Hall of Fame and a comprehensive collection of York's past champions, York student-athletes who have represented Canada at the Olympic Games, previous York award winners and background information on the annual Red & Blue Bowl and Homecoming events.
