The York University track & field team posted big results over the weekend (Feb. 13-14) en route to the men's team capturing silver and the women taking home bronze at the Windsor Team Challenge.

The biggest result of the weekend was
Brittany Crew's (East York, Ont.) throw in the shot put of 15.15m and
Khamica Bingham's (Brmapton, Ont.) 60m run of 7.34 seconds, which earned them both golds and set new meet records. Crew also took home the bronze in the weight throw with a 17.07m toss.

Not too far behind Bingham was
Sheereen Harris (Toronto), who grabbed the bronze in the 60m with a 7.75 second run. In the 300m,
Christy Ihumaegbo (East York, Ont.) ran a 40.26, which was good for silver.

The women also stood atop the podium in both the 4x200m and 4x400m relays. The 4x200m relay team of Bingham, Harris,
Danielle Knight (Brampton, Ont.) and
Mikeisha Bobb (London, Ont.) ran a 1:39.79, which qualifies them for the CIS nationals. The 4x400m relay team who ran 3:55.98 consisted of Harris, Ihumaegbo, Bobb and
Meira Dholakia (Richmond Hill, Ont.).

On the men's side, the Lions swept the 60m dash with
Ike Omoruna (Brampton, Ont.) taking home gold running 6.94 seconds, and
Xavier Jehovah (Toronto) and
Dereck Djan (Toronto) rounding out the top three.

Also claiming gold were
Jameel Brown (Brampton, Ont.) in the 300m with 35.19 seconds,
Eric Brathwaite (Brampton, Ont.) in the shot put with a 16.92m throw and
Chris Preece (Cookstown, Ont.) in the weight throw with a 17.17m toss.

In the triple jump,
Richard Jansen (Bradford, Ont.) found the podium in third place with a leap of 14.24m and
Justin Massar (Anten Mills, Ont.) finished fourth in the pentathlon with 3342 points. Â

In the relays, the men swept the 4x200m and 4x400m races. Brown, Jehovah,
Ayo Agusto (Toronto) and
Jalen Pidlubny (Scarborough, Ont.) ran a 1:29.12 in the 4x200m and Agusto, Pidlubny, Brown and
Bismark Boateng (Toronto) ran a 3:23.70 second race in the 4x400m. The team of
Matt Fouzie (Kingston, Ont.),
Jordan Miller (Toronto),
Brandon Belan (Espanola, Ont.) and
Suraj Sharma (Brampton, Ont.) ran 8:07.99 seconds in the 4x800m to claim the bronze.
