The York Lions are counting down the top 10 stories of the 2014-15 season! Stay tuned to yorkulions.ca over the next two weeks as we relive a tremendous year for our varsity programs. The No. 1 story will be unveiled on Friday, April 17.

The Lions field hockey team had its best season in five years, reaching the OUA semifinals for the first time since 2009.
 
The playoff run capped off a strong regular season that saw the Lions triple their win total from 2013, posting three more victories and adding two ties to finish in fifth place in the OUA standings. They scored two more goals than the previous year and, most impressively, allowed 14 less in 12 games.
 
The Lions peaked when it mattered most, upsetting Waterloo in the quarter-finals to reach the medal round at the OUA championships. They just missed out on a podium finish with a fourth-place result, but are set up to continue to rise in coming years.
