LIONS SET TO BATTLE FOR OUA TITLES THIS WEEKEND

The OUA Water Polo Championships will be played at the Athletics & Recreation Centre this weekend and will feature the top teams from across the province.

In the men's bracket the Toronto Varsity Blues will be looking to defend their 2009 title. They beat the Carleton Ravens by a 14-4 score in Hamilton. The Varsity Blues will lead Group A as they are joined by the York Lions and host Queen's Gaels while the Ravens will lead group B alongside the McMaster Marauders and Western Mustangs.

The women's bracket sees the Carleton Ravens trying to defend their title from one year ago as they topped the women's Varsity Blues squad in a close 6-5 game. The women's tournament will be played in a round robin format with Carleton and Toronto as the top seeds. The McMaster Marauders, Queen's Gaels and York Lions will round out the field this year.

The Lions will begin their tournament Friday with the women playing Carleton at 12:20pm and the men taking on Toronto at 3pm.

The championships will conclude on Sunday when the women's gold medal game takes place at 3:40pm before the men play for their gold at 6:20pm.

Tickets for each game are $2 and can be purchased at the gate. Seating capacity is limited.
