The York Lions are counting down the top 10 stories of the 2014-15 season! Stay tuned to yorkulions.ca over the next two weeks as we relive a tremendous year for our varsity programs. The No. 1 story will be unveiled on Friday, April 17.

The Lions football team had a remarkable off-season with the commitment of several top recruits to the program for 2015, resulting in the program's best ever recruiting class.

The coaching staff has seen 35 players sign their letters of intent for next season, and among the group are several key players who will make an immediate impact on the program. Most notably, the Lions signed five players from Alberta – receivers Colton Hunchak and Jacob Janke, quarterback Brett Hunchak and linebackers Jakob Butler and Jakub Jakoubek – who have all represented Canada on the international stage and are among the most sought-after players in the country.
 
Recently, the Lions signed another three players who were highly coveted in running back Jesse Amankwaa, receiver Myles Gardener and quarterback Harrison Mancuso.
