The York Lions are counting down the top 10 stories of the 2014-15 season! Stay tuned to yorkulions.ca over the next two weeks as we relive a tremendous year for our varsity programs. The No. 1 story will be unveiled on Friday, April 17.The Lions track and field team won the OUA silver medal at their home track for their best team result in nearly 20 years.
They won 11 individual medals, including seven golds, en route to the second-place finish.
Eric Brathwaite swept gold in both throwing events,
Bismark Boateng and
Ayo Agusto won the 60m and 300m events, respectively, while also winning gold in the 4x200m relay, and
David McKay and
Nick Fyffe also reached the top of the podium in the pole vault and triple jump.
The Lions went on to win the team bronze medal at the CIS championships, marking the third straight year they have reached the national podium.
